After winning a Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching, Erica Voolich created the
community-based “mathematics charity,”  the Somerville Mathematics Fund (http://somervillemathematicsfund.org).  In addition to providing math scholarships in her local community of Somerville, MA, the Somerville Mathematics Fund encourages math learning through teacher grants, Family Math Nights, and family problem solving in the local newspaper.
